Why is it that Philadelphia sports teams come out swinging and the let you down?

Is is just me or is it that the Philly sports teams (namely the Flyers and the Phillies) come out fighting and get us all hyped, and then it seems like they go to sleep.  Now granted, the Phillies blessed us with a championship last year, which is FANtastic.  I'm sure the curse of William Penn had something to do with it :)  But gheeze, it seems as though I have ended the evening more pissed off because our teams blow a game more often than not.

Tell me does any other Philly sports fan out there feel the same?
